This stainless steel glass table top adapter is 8-2/3″ (220mm) in Diameter and suitable for larger glass table tops. It is designed to fit into a 3" round table base column and attach to the 12mm threaded rod used in most bases stainless steel table bases.
We generally recommend that you use the services of a professional to attach your glass table top to your base.
However, if you are a seasoned DIYer, the following information may be helpful! There are a few professionally recommended chemical adherents for attaching glass table top adapters:
Epoxy: Specifically, Loctite Brand Hysol Product 0151 is recommended as a two-part epoxy that dries optically clear. Epoxy provides a strong, durable bond between metal and glass.
Super glue: This is recommended for fixing table base adapters firmly to the underside of glass table tops.
UV-cure adhesive: While not specifically mentioned for table top adapters, UV-curable glue is noted as working well for bonding metal to glass.
When applying these adhesives:
- Ensure both surfaces are clean, dry, and free of debris before application.
- Follow the manufacturer's instructions carefully, especially regarding curing time.
- For epoxy, consider having a glass professional or contractor handle the installation, as mixing the epoxy and centering the adapter can be challenging.
- It's important to choose an adhesive specifically formulated for bonding metal to glass for the best results. Always test the adhesive on a small area first to ensure compatibility and desired outcome.
